We have just finished the British Columbia Provincial election of 2009. Within the Nelson-Creston riding I'm reasonably certain that nobody is 100% satisfied with the results. Continue reading 'And The Winner Is….Nobody!' »
Saturday was a busy, busy day for me. First up was the trip to Cranbrook for the District 21, Division C, Area 36 Evaluation and International Speech Contest. I was the Chairman for this event. The three Toastmaster Clubs in Area 36 were represented and I believe a good time was had by all. A new Area Governor was chosen and my stint in the position comes to an end on June 30, 2009. We are also taught, from childhood, that Justice is a critical and important component of our legal systems. The Wikipedia definition; “Justice is the concept of moral rightness based on ethics, rationality, law, natural law, fairness and equity.”
The previous definitions for Rule of Law and Justice are theoretical. Then, there is that vexatious concept of reality. Can any of us state categorically, without reservation, that we live in a just society where the Rule of Law is applied evenly without any discrimination or favouritism?
